The trial by jury has been fully established in the Province of Buenos Aires. In just one year more than forty jury trials have already been successfully performed without a hitch under this system.
Just during the month of March there were six trials in such districts as Quilmes, San Isidro, Bahía Blanca and San Martín.
And a review of the agenda of planned jury trials confirms a promising future: right at the outset of the judicial year more than twenty trials are already scheduled for 2016, seven of them to be held during the month of April.
Much work remains to be done, of course. And, as is to be expected in the implementation of all new procedural systems, there is still plenty to learn and much room for improvement. But, in Buenos Aires, the jury is an increasingly solid institution.
