Rosatti: "The true democratization of justice is in trial by jury"

The candidate for the National Supreme Court of Justice, Horacio Rosatti, asserted that “the true democratization of justice is in trial by jury” and emphasized the need for its implementation, because it is an “outstanding debt of Argentina.”

He also highlighted that, with the new National Code of Criminal Procedure, the system has made advances toward an adversarial system.

Rosatti’s words were pronounced yesterday, in the context of the hearing before the Committee of Senate Agreements.

It should be noted that his position is not surprising. Rosatti has always aligned himself with this position over the course of his academic career and his scholarly work, consistently showing his support for a classic jury system. In fact, in the last few days, he has participated in a seminar in the province of Buenos Aires, in which he emphatically defended the BA recent jury system.
